SDRC Technology Sails With America True to Semi-Final Status in Race for America's Cup 2000

    CINCINNATI--Dec. 21, 1999--SDRC , a leading global supplier of enterprise product development solutions and developer of Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) and I-DEAS(R) software, today announced that its I-DEAS software is one of the enabling technologies in America True's ability to clinch a guaranteed position in the six-boat semi-finals of the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Races for the America's Cup. America True will move forward as the top U.S. challenger against the other five fastest syndicates to earn the right to confront the defending Team New Zealand in the final race of this prestigious event.

    SDRC officially initiated sponsorship of America True in January 1998. I-DEAS was deployed in the design and product simulation during the two-year time frame allowed for America's Cup challengers to design, build, test, and conduct preliminary races prior to the start of official racing, which commenced in October 1999. The America's Cup competition is in February 2000 in Auckland, New Zealand.
