AutoAlliance International, Inc. Employees Donate to Holiday CharitiesFLAT ROCK, Mich., Dec. 20 -- The spirit of giving has been thriving this holiday season at AutoAlliance International, Inc. Since just before Thanksgiving, AutoAlliance employees have participated in a number of holiday fundraising activities including, Harvest for Hunger, Adopt-a-Family, Toys for Tots and a collection for the Capuchin Kitchen. In total, these events raised more than $35,000 in food, toys, clothing and cash for families in Wayne and Monroe counties in Michigan, and in Toledo, Ohio. These areas were chosen to receive the donations as they are representative of the home bases for many AutoAlliance employees. Deborah Coleman, AutoAlliance president, acknowledged the charitable workforce saying, "I would like to congratulate and thank all of you for the exceptional level of energy and team spirit around the collecting of money, gifts and food. A great number of people will experience a joyous holiday because of your generosity." Each year AutoAlliance and the UAW Local 3000 host holiday fund-raisers to help make the holidays happier for those in need. This year, however, the company's employees came together in a very big way to raise a collective total that exceeded donations made in previous years. AutoAlliance International is a 50:50 joint venture of Mazda Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company. The company produces the Mazda 626 and Mercury Cougar.
