Auto Designers Go California Dreamin' With Art Center Panel Discussion At L.A. Auto Show
                      News Conference Schedule Announced

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 -- A panel of the world's foremost
automotive designers will gather at the 2000 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show to
discuss the big questions -- What will the automobile of the future look like?
What are their inspirations? Will California continue to play a leading role
in influencing designs?
The informative and lively session will be held Thursday, January 6 from
5 to 6 p.m. immediately after the first of two Media Days at the L.A. Auto
Show. It is open to all registered journalists and industry executives.
In a fitting complement to the auto show's California Dreamin' 2000 theme,
the prestigious Southern California-based Art Center College of Design is
assembling an impressive list of participants from among its graduates who
have gone on to become top designers from major manufacturers. More than half
the top automotive designers in the world today are graduates of Art Center.
The panel discussion is part of Art Center's involvement at the L.A. Auto
Show, which is highlighted by a custom-designed and multi-faceted exhibit that
features more than 30 scale models, original drawings and design studies by
graduating students.
Included among the Art Center alumni who will be participating are:

Doug Halbert Chief Designer, Honda R&D North America
Geza Loczi Chief Designer, Volvo Cars of North America
Tom Matano Executive Designer, Global Advanced Design Mazda Motor
                    Corp.
Shiro Nakamura Chief Designer, Nissan Motors Company
Tom Tremont Chief of Advanced Design, DaimlerChrysler Pacifica
Roger Zrimec Studio Director, Research & Design Center Mitsubishi
                    Motors

With more than 20 major automobile design studios, California is ground
zero for affecting worldwide design trends. Many of the vehicles making their
World or North American debut at the L.A. Auto Show were either designed in
California or penned by Art Center graduates.
