ISC Chairman to Pursue Medical Treatment

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Dec. 20, 1999--International Speedway Corporation announced today that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, William C. France, has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently pursuing additional diagnoses and treatment.
    The treatment is not expected to prevent him from continuing in his roles as Chairman and CEO of ISC and President of NASCAR.
    "The doctors have told me the illness is treatable," said France. "I am anxious to begin treatment and get on the road to recovery."
    ISC President Jim France, brother of William France, said, "Bill and I met in the office on Saturday and his spirits are good."
