CTS Corporation Elects Walter S. Catlow to Board of Directors
ELKHART, Ind.--Dec. 20, 1999--Walter S. Catlow has been elected to the CTS Corporation Board of Directors, according to an announcement today by Joseph P. Walker, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of CTS.Mr. Catlow is President of Ameritech Cellular and Paging, the largest wireless communications provider in the Midwest. Ameritech serves millions of customers in 50 states and 40 countries and has earned a 15-year reputation for providing dependable wireless service, and recently received the J. D. Power and Associates award for its overall customer satisfaction.
Before Mr. Catlow was named President of Ameritech Cellular and Paging in June 1998, he was Executive Vice President of Ameritech and President of Ameritech International, where he directed Ameritech's $9 billion international investments and was responsible for acquisitions and alliances to expand Ameritech's global presence. Prior to that, Mr. Catlow was President of Ameritech Long Distance Industry Services, which provides long distance companies with both access and billing services.
In making the announcement Walker stated, "We are pleased to add a person of Walter's position and background to our Board, especially in light of our emphasis on wireless communications. We would expect his knowledge and counsel to be invaluable to our Board in the 21st century."
Mr. Catlow began his career in 1968 at Indiana Bell and later AT&T where he held varying financial, operations and marketing positions.
Mr. Catlow holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Ball State University and a master's degree in Management from Pace University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bell Canada, TeleDanmark; Vice Chair of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program, and is currently an Executive Committee member for the Mid-America Committee. Catlow is also a member of the Chicago Committee of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the New York Council on Foreign Relations.
