Delphi Beams Giant Safe Travel Message on BuildingTROY, Mich., Dec. 17 -- "Drive Safe, Drive Smart, Drive Sober." That's the message northbound I-75 drivers will see from Saturday, Dec. 18 to Jan. 1, 2000, when passing the Delphi Automotive Systems World Headquarters near the Crooks Road exit in Troy. The 25-foot high-tech, illuminated message, beamed onto the building's south side, is a visible reminder to metro Detroit residents encouraging safe and responsible driving during the holidays. The message will be visible during the high volume traffic "drive-time" periods in the morning and at night. "We've enjoyed working with the Oakland County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the Ashley Marie Easterbrook Foundation of Troy and the Troy Community Coalition to bring this message of safe and sober driving to the community this holiday season," said John Pekarek, director of corporate relations at Delphi. "We applaud the many other metro Detroit-based companies who are providing resources throughout the year to encourage everyone to drive safe, smart and sober."
