Honda to Hold Symposiums For Potential Suppliers
                  - January Meetings in Talladega to Provide
                    Opportunity for Information Exchange -

LINCOLN, Ala., Dec. 16 -- Honda Manufacturing of Alabama
today announced that on Jan. 10 and 11, 2000, it will hold two informational
meetings in Talladega for potential contractors and suppliers to its new
vehicle and engine manufacturing facility. Entitled "Partners for Tomorrow's
Success," the January symposiums will provide an overview of Honda's global
operations and company philosophies, commitment to diversity, purchasing
policies and processes, and quality management and measurement criteria.
The meetings are targeted to firms interested in providing Honda
Manufacturing of Alabama with construction, maintenance and repair services,
as well as operating supplies. Original equipment manufacturers of vehicle
and engine parts and components will have the opportunity to meet with Honda
purchasing agents at a future supplier symposium.
"Honda is a customer-focused company that succeeds in part because of its
great relationships with outstanding suppliers," said Cesar Penaherrera, vice
president/general manager of Parts and Procurement at Honda of America Mfg.,
Inc. "These informational meetings provide an ideal opportunity for Honda to
learn more about local suppliers and contractors, and for local firms to learn
more about how to do business with Honda."
Penaherrera added that Honda's commitment to diversity throughout the U.S.
includes providing business opportunities for all qualified suppliers and
contractors, including minority- and women-owned firms. "We encourage
everyone who is interested to register and attend one of these meetings," he
said.
The symposiums, which are free, will be held on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11, 2000,
from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the International Motorsports Speedvision Dome,
3198 Speedway Blvd., Talladega, Ala. (Both symposiums will cover the same
material; it is not necessary for participants to attend both meetings.)
Interested companies should fax the name of their firm, the names of their
attendees -- limit two people per company -- and the date they would like to
attend (either Jan. 10 or Jan. 11), to 937-645-8314. For additional
information, interested parties should call, toll free, 1-877-44-HONDA.
