IPSCO Inc. Announces Appointment to the Board of Directors
CHICAGO--Dec. 15, 1999--(TSE:IPS.)Roger Tetrault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McDermott International, an energy services company, providing engineering, procurement and project management in the oil and gas sector, has been appointed to the board of directors of IPSCO Inc.
The appointment brings to three the number of American directors to the company's board, reflecting IPSCO's continuing growth in the United States.
IPSCO operates a 1,250,000 ton per annum steelworks producing plate and hot rolled coil in Montpelier, Iowa, and is constructing a similar facility in Mobile County, Alabama. Its Paper Cal Steel subsidiaries operate coil processing facilities in Houston, Texas, and St. Paul, Minnesota. The company also produces tubular products at plants in Blytheville, Arkansas; Camanche, Iowa; and Geneva, Nebraska.
The common shares of IPSCO are traded on the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges.
IPSCO also has a steelworks in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and extensive tubular products, coil processing, and scrap handling activities in five Canadian provinces.
