Ltd. has been selected to design and supply independent rear suspension drive systems for a future Ford Motor Company vehicle. The systems and vehicles will be produced in Australia. "We have significant design and development responsibility, and an opportunity to combine our systems integration expertise, to meet increased speed-to-market needs for our customer." In addition to the development responsibilities mentioned, Dana will also be responsible for managing the supply chain in areas such as supplier selection, logistics, engineering, testing, and validation. "This project allows us to expand our capabilities upstream and add value throughout the process," said Mike Laisure, vice president of Dana's Modules and Systems Group. "It is an excellent opportunity to build on our expertise as a systems integrator, and to demonstrate the value of Dana's component technology and experience." Dana's Automotive Systems Group provides under-the-vehicle products and integrated modules and systems to customers anywhere in the world. The Automotive Systems Group consists of Spicer(R) axle products, Spicer(R) driveshaft products, Parish(R) structural products, Nakata(R) steering and suspension products, FTE(R) Automotive brake and clutch systems, and a systems engineering integration and logistics unit.
