Avis Europe plc Year End Close Season Trading Update

    BRACKNELL, Berkshire--Dec. 15, 1999--Avis Europe plc, the leading car rental company in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, today issued their year end close season trading update:
    Following the announcement of the Group's interim results in September, trading remains in line with expectations. As predicted, we have seen stronger volume growth in the second half of the year and price increases at a somewhat lower level. Despite the decline in the Euro/Sterling exchange rate, we view the outcome for the year with confidence.
    The preliminary year end results will be announced on Thursday, February 24, 2000.
