Maxager Technology Names Three New Executives; Solid Leaders Provide Springboard for Future Company Growth
SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--Dec. 14, 1999--Maxager Technology, Inc., the provider of revolutionary Advanced Profit Analysis software, today announced the appointment of Terry Hartsfield as vice president of Operations, Steve Levy as vice president of Sales North America and Global Strategic Alliances and Alan Steelman as vice president of Consulting.Maxager helps manufacturers continuously maximize profit. By identifying the exact causes of lost profit, Maxager provides financial, marketing and production management with the information they need to make the most profitable decisions.

Terry Hartsfield's career spans over 25 years in managing technically complex, fast-growing customer support organizations. Most recently, he served as vice president of Customer Service, at N.E.T. (Network Equipment Technology), a leading supplier of multi-service wide-area networks.
In this role, Hartsfield managed a global organization of 350 people, which included product support, staff engineering, service product marketing, service materials, education, IS, business development, field service and telephone assistance centers. His successful propulsion of N.E.T. from a relatively small organization to a larger player will prove invaluable in supporting Maxager Technology's future growth.
Prior to his position at N.E.T., Hartsfield was vice president of Customer Satisfaction and chief quality officer at NetFRAME Systems. In addition, he spent six years at Sun Microsystems in a variety of executive positions.
Steve Levy's significant experience with industry leading organizations will prove critical in his role as vice president of Sales North America and Global Strategic Alliances. Prior to his position at Maxager Technology, Levy spent six years at Oracle Corp. in a number of roles, including senior group manager for Industrial Manufacturing with responsibility for managing a staff of 40 sales, presales and marketing individuals, focused on Oracle's indirect channel in the global manufacturing segment.
Levy also served as Oracle's global account manager for the company's western region, where he managed the building of a new segment that included Rockwell, Northrop Grumman, McDonald Douglas, TRW, Hughes and Litton Industries. Levy's proven ability to grow new market segments through strategic alliances will be integral to his role at Maxager.
Prior to his tenure at Oracle Corp., Levy was director of sales, Americas Aerospace and Defense sector at Baan Co., where he managed growth and penetration for markets in North America, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
Former Congressman Alan Steelman's career spans over 20 years in a variety of consulting roles. Prior to his position at Maxager Technology, Steelman served as senior principal for the Monitor Company, a leading international consulting firm specializing in competitive strategy.
Prior to joining Monitor in 1993, Steelman was chief operating officer of the Alexander Proudfoot Co., a consulting company listed on the London Stock Exchange with worldwide operations spanning 39 countries. Steelman's strong consulting experience will provide the backbone for heightened strategic involvement with Maxager Technology's existing customers, as well as offer enhanced strategic counsel to prospective customers.
In addition to his current position as vice president of Consulting at Maxager Technology, Steelman serves on the Board of Directors of Sterling Software, as well as Aristocrat Ltd., an Australian software company. He was appointed by Governor George Bush to the Texas Growth Fund Board, a $600 million venture capital fund operated by the State of Texas.
He also serves on the Advisory Board of Asia Information Services, a Beijing-based information technology company which among other activities was the principal contractor on the construction of ChinaNet, the Internet backbone in China. At the age of 29, he was the youngest member of Congress and the Republican Nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1976 from Texas.
During his 15 years at Alexander Proudfoot, Steelman held several assignments including group president of the Asia-Pacific region. Living in Singapore, he pioneered the firm's start-up in the region. While at Proudfoot, he also served as executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
