Taurus Touchdown Drive Sweepstakes Add Excitement To Bowl Championship

Ford Taurus Touchdown Drive Sweepstakes Add Excitement To Bowl Championship Series on ABC-TV
DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 13 -- College football fans will find
the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) games more exciting than ever this holiday
season, thanks partly to commercials for the redesigned 2000 Ford Taurus which
link the action on the field to the viewers' chance to win a Taurus. For
every touchdown scored during the four-game BCS, Ford will give away a Taurus.
But viewers of ABC's coverage of the BCS games will have to be alert to win.
"During each game, Ford Taurus commercials will contain a winning signal
demonstrated by an on-screen referee. After the game, registered participants
will be called. If they can identify the winning signal, they win a Taurus,"
said Taurus Brand Manager Rick Crossland. "These football teams have high-
powered offenses, and we're frankly a little concerned that some teams will
light up the scoreboard. But that's good news for viewers who will have more
chances to win," Crossland said.
People can register for the sweepstakes by calling toll-free
888-BCS-DRIVE. They can also register by logging on the Internet on
bcsdrive.espn.com , fordvehicles.com , or mrshowbiz.com .
Ford Taurus is annually one of the best-selling cars in America.
Redesigned for 2000 Taurus offers more rear and front headroom than the past
model. It is the first American car offering power-adjustable brake and
accelerator pedals, which allow drivers greater comfort in their seat
position. 2000 Taurus continues its safety leadership in the segment.
Taurus' Personal Safety System uses sensors that determine the severity of a
frontal collision and the driver's seat position to deploy its dual-stage air
bags with the appropriate force. Taurus prices begin at $18,245.
