Nissan Announces Changes in Its Marketing and Operations ManagementGARDENA, Calif., Dec. 10 -- Nissan North America, Inc., announced earlier this week the following changes in its marketing and operations management, effective December 1, 1999: Scott Fessenden, director of operations, Nissan Division has been appointed to director, Nissan marketing, reporting to Jed Connelly, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. Fessenden joined Nissan in 1982 as a district sales manager and has since held various national and regional positions most recently in the areas of vehicle operations and human resources. Fessenden holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University. Fessenden fills the vacancy left by Ed Sheehy who recently left the organization to pursue other opportunities. Replacing Fessenden as director of operations, Nissan Division is Mark McNabb, currently assistant regional manager for Nissan's Northeast Region. McNabb will also report to Jed Connelly, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. McNabb joined Nissan in 1986 and has since served in a variety of sales, production, distribution and operations positions within the Nissan division prior to his appointment as assistant regional manager in 1997. McNabb earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. In a related move, Mark Christovale, corporate manager, national market representation, has been promoted to the newly created position of director, public companies. In his new capacity, Christovale will coordinate all activities associated with the publicly owned segment of dealers. The position will have a dual reporting relationship to both Nissan and Infiniti divisions. Since joining Nissan in 1983, Christovale has held numerous national and regional management positions with the Nissan and Infiniti divisions. His experience includes the areas of sales, operations, parts and service, customer service, marketing and market representation. Christovale holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from California State University, Long Beach. In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
