Mannesmann Appoints Executive Board Members of the New Engineering & Automotive AG

    DUSSELDORF, Germany, Dec. 10 -- The following members of the
Executive Board of Mannesmann AG have been nominated for the Executive Board
of the new Engineering & Automotive AG:

    Mr. Georg Acker (59), Engineering, Dr. Joachim Rauhut (45), Finance,
Mr. Sigmar Sattler (55), Personnel, Peter Prinz Wittgenstein (59), Global
Markets.

    The Chief Executive Officer of the Engineering & Automotive AG will be
appointed in the first quarter 2000.
    As already announced in the press release dated November 23, 1999, the
formation of the separate Engineering & Automotive AG will be accelerated.
The IPO is planned to take place mid-2000.
