Burnham Announces Expansion at Bryan SteamLANCASTER, Pa., Dec. 10 -- Burnham Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: BURCA), a major manufacturer of boilers, furnaces, radiators and related equipment for domestic and international residential, commercial and industrial markets, today announced plans for a major expansion of the manufacturing facility of its Bryan Steam Corporation subsidiary located in Peru, Indiana. Bryan Steam is the leading manufacturer of flexible water tube boilers, which were invented by George Bryan in 1916. Bryan boilers are used in a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. The market demand for this unique flexible water tube type of boiler has been growing steadily and has outstripped Bryan Steam's manufacturing capacity. In order to meet the increased demand from both domestic and international users, Burnham is adding a new final assembly and shipping building to the Bryan Steam facility. Construction is expected to begin early in 2000 and be completed by late summer. Bryan management expects to reduce lead times as well as increase overall production capacity as a result of this plant expansion.
