Accuride and CAW Reach Early Agreement

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--Dec. 9, 1999--Today, members of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW), Local 27 - Unit 17, voted to ratify a three-year labor contract with Accuride Canada, Inc.
Achieving a mutually acceptable contract was a result of early negotiations between the parties. The contract, under which the Union had been operating, was slated to expire at midnight on March 13, 2000.
"Accuride is delighted that the union and management bargaining teams at our London facility were able to craft an early collective bargaining agreement. All parties, and especially the London workforce, deserve the highest praise," said Bill Greubel, Accuride's President and CEO. "This is a win-win situation for everyone. Now the Company, and our employees, can focus exclusively on meeting the needs of our customers and ensuring operational excellence throughout our London facility."
Along with an early signing bonus, the new contract offers employees benefit and wage improvements.
"Over the past year, our Plant and Union leadership have worked hard at establishing a shared business vision and cooperative working relationship. The fact that we were able to reach an early agreement signifies our progress towards these goals," explained Stewart Doggett, Accuride's Director of Operations for its London Facility. "I have every expectation that we will be equally successful in resolving any future issues still before us, as attaining world class performance is key to our mutual success."
