Majestic to Develop SAFE-T-GARD Product for School Bus Industry

SAN DIEGO--Dec. 8, 1999--The Majestic Companies Ltd. (OTCBB:MJXC) is pleased to announce the addition of a new product that can further enhance school bus safety, the SAFE-T-GARD(TM), to its family of school bus safety products which currently includes the SAFE-T-BAR(TM), and the SAFE-T-SEAT(TM).
The SAFE-T-GARD(TM), which mounts onto the curb side undercarriage of the bus, works along the same lines as a cattle guard on trains, and is designed to prevent children and other objects from being drawn under the right rear dual tires. The loading and unloading zone of school buses are particularly hazardous and have been defined as the "Danger Zone" due to the fact that many accidents occur in this area when the bus comes to a stop or starts rolling in the presence of school children. The SAFE-T-GARD(TM), which rides about four inches from the road surface, is constructed of a heavy duty BSF polyurethane material and attaches directly to the bus frame via a metal skirted mounting adapter.
Regarding the new product, Adrian Corbett, president of Majestic Transportation Product's Ltd. stated, "the school bus industry has always been highly concerned about injuries and fatalities in the loading and unloading zone. The SAFE-T-GARD is a tremendous product in terms of improving the safety of the 'danger zone' as it can virtually eliminate injuries that occur when children fall under the right rear tires of moving buses." Corbett then added "the SAFE-T-GARD is a natural for Majestic as we are already in the process of marketing both the SAFE-T-BAR and SAFE-T-SEAT to school transportation officials throughout North America."
Majestic plans to complete the design of the SAFE-T-GARD and start testing the product at a Department of Transportation (DOT) approved testing facility in the next four to six weeks. Once testing is competed, the guard will be added to Majestic's demonstration bus and marketed in conjunction with the company's other school bus related safety products. With a projected retail price point of between $600 to $800 per bus, the market for the SAFE-T-GARD has been estimated to be between $270 and $360 million.
