Best-Ever November Sales Reported by Toyota's Chicago Region
CHICAGO, Dec. 8 -- Toyota's Chicago Region posted record car
sales in November of 5,769 vehicles, a one percent increase over November 1998
when 5,726 were sold. Combined car and truck sales for the month were 6,387,
a 5 percent increase over last year's 6,080 total.
"Our North American-built Avalon and Sienna, bolstered by the all-new ECHO
and redesigned Celica, all contributed to a record setting sales month for
1999," said Dave Camden, general manager of the Chicago Region. "Avalon sales
jumped by 66 percent, Sienna increased 33 percent, and, not surprisingly, the
ECHO and Celica are off to a great start for the model year 2000. The new
full-size Tundra, continues to post strong sales numbers, with November its
second best month since its introduction in June. Our dealers mirror the
entire Toyota Division by recording their best-ever November sales."
The Toyota Chicago Region includes 114 dealers in Illinois, Indiana,
Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
