Best-Ever November Sales Reported by Toyota's Chicago RegionCHICAGO, Dec. 8 -- Toyota's Chicago Region posted record car sales in November of 5,769 vehicles, a one percent increase over November 1998 when 5,726 were sold. Combined car and truck sales for the month were 6,387, a 5 percent increase over last year's 6,080 total. "Our North American-built Avalon and Sienna, bolstered by the all-new ECHO and redesigned Celica, all contributed to a record setting sales month for 1999," said Dave Camden, general manager of the Chicago Region. "Avalon sales jumped by 66 percent, Sienna increased 33 percent, and, not surprisingly, the ECHO and Celica are off to a great start for the model year 2000. The new full-size Tundra, continues to post strong sales numbers, with November its second best month since its introduction in June. Our dealers mirror the entire Toyota Division by recording their best-ever November sales." The Toyota Chicago Region includes 114 dealers in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
