Isuzu Announces Record November Commercial Vehicle Sales Performance; NPR Gas, NQR and FTR All Set New Records

CERRITOS, Calif.--Dec. 6, 1999--American Isuzu Motors Inc. announced November commercial vehicle retail sales that set a new record for the best month of November in the company's history. November's strong sales numbers of 1,480 units represent a 21% increase over last November and a 23% increase over 1998's year-to-date numbers. These impressive sales figures are lead by annual record setting sales results for NPR GAS, NQR and FTR trucks, all with the month of December yet to come.
The NQR Class-5 truck has already doubled the model's 1998 introductory figure of 1085 units with 1958 units sold year-to-date. The NPR GAS truck continues its success besting last November's sales figures by 78% and is already 38% above last year's record final year-to-date numbers. The FTR Class 6-7 trucks are a full 42% ahead of 1998's record year-to-date figures.
"As we close in on the end of the year we are extremely pleased with the continuing sales success of our commercial vehicles, in particular the NPR GAS, NQR and FTR , all of which have already set records. We are very pleased that Isuzu badged trucks continue to maintain our strength in the total Class 3-7 commercial truck market with as many sales as all other international brands combined," said Jim Underwood, Senior Vice President, COO, Commercial Vehicle.
