    PORTLAND, Maine, Dec. 6 -- Auto Europe is offering millennium
travel specials including free one-car class car rental upgrades in five
European countries.  Additionally, Destination Europe, their tour division, is
offering air specials to London beginning at $267 per person.
    The upgrade offer is available in Greece, Iceland, Italy, Portugal and
Spain and is valid for a guaranteed one-car class upgrade from compact to
intermediate, booked now through December 31, 1999.  Additional upgrade
categories are also available in manual and automatic transmissions.
    In addition, Destination Europe is offering airfare specials to London on
Virgin Atlantic Airways.  Departures from Boston or New York to London are
$267 roundtrip, $137 one way, Chicago is $357 roundtrip, $177 one way, Miami
is $417 roundtrip, $217 one way, and Los Angeles or San Francisco departures
are $407 roundtrip, $207 one way.
    Upgrade offer, validity dates, available locations and applicable car
categories vary depending upon renting location.  Offer valid for bookings by
December 31, 1999 for pick-ups by December 31, 1999.  Airfare specials from
Boston, Chicago and Miami are valid for departures December 26, 1999
through March 31, 2000, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco are valid for
departures December 26, 1999 through January 2, 2000 and must be
