Agilent Technologies Firehunter Optimizes BMW's Customer Service With Service-level Agreement Guarantees
PALO ALTO, Calif.--Dec. 6, 1999--Firehunter to Improve Intranet Service
Agilent Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, today announced that German automaker BMW AG has selected Firehunter, Agilent's comprehensive Internet/intranet service-assurance solution, to provide service-level agreement (SLA) guarantees and intranet service performance reporting to all of its departments and business organizations throughout its global enterprise.
BMW has deployed Firehunter to monitor and guarantee SLA compliance on basic intranet services, such as global email, and to pinpoint the root causes of intranet service performance problems.
"We are increasingly using SLAs between departments, and our ability to guarantee compliance is absolutely critical to create customer confidence," said Rudolf Rauber, department head, Office Work Group and Computing at BMW. "Not only does Firehunter provide real-time SLA monitoring and reporting, it helps us quickly identify points of failure. The system measures the availability and actual quality of our service and the performance of our applications and services. Firehunter provides information that is critical from our customers' point of view and helps ensure that our service is excellent throughout the enterprise."
More and more organizations are communicating and conducting business across corporate intranets, so intranet services must perform virtually flawlessly. "Firehunter enables companies to deliver excellent service quality and helps them to guarantee performance to intranet users," said Tom White, senior vice president and general manager of Agilent's Communications Solutions Group. "By selecting Firehunter, BMW can take full advantage of its global intranet. BMW's choice demonstrates the critical need of corporate enterprises to address the e-business revolution occurring today."
