Raleigh/Durham-Area Toyota Sales Climb In November
    MIAMI, Dec. 6 -- Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc. reports
that November's retail truck sales at Toyota's three Raleigh/Durham-area
dealers climbed 97 percent over the year-ago month while car sales advanced
42 percent.
    Raleigh/Durham-area dealers include Fred Anderson Toyota, Leith Toyota and
Toyota of Durham.
    In the five-state region served by Southeast Toyota, November's retail
truck sales rose 59 percent over the year-ago month while retail car sales
increased 10 percent, establishing an all-time retail November sales record.
    In addition to four all-new Toyota offerings: the full-size Indiana-built
Tundra pickup, the affordable ECHO sedan, the radically stlyed Celica sports
car, and the Kentucky-built Avalon sedan; Southeast-area sales leaders for the
month included the California-built 2-wheel-drive Tacoma pickup, up four
percent and the Kentucky-built Sienna minivan, up nine percent.
    Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer
