Successful Implementation of Servigistics Parts Planning Software At Subaru of New England
MARIETTA, Ga.--Dec. 6, 1999--Web Access for Dealers
Servigistics, a leading provider of planning and logistics solutions for service parts management, today announced the deployment of Servigistics inventory planning and forecasting software at Subaru of New England, which stocks and distributes over 8,600 service parts to 60 Subaru dealers in New England.
Servigistics was successfully implemented in only 4 weeks and integrated to Subaru's existing NT-based ERP system. The software will facilitate Subaru's parts planning both internally and externally, giving dealers access to the system via the Internet and enabling them to remotely approve recommended replenishment levels.
Subaru of New England needed a new inventory planning solution to replace the legacy system being terminated by Subaru of America. Their commitment to the dealers they serve required them to implement something quickly at a reasonable cost. After reviewing a competitive solution that was unable to meet their timeline or budget, Subaru selected Servigistics to provide a functionally rich service parts system with fast implementation. Their decision was confirmed when Subaru of New England identified over one million dollars in excess inventories with Servigistics modeling tool, the Rapid Prototype Center.
"We had a critical need to get a replacement system that could meet our high level of service without interrupting our dealers' businesses," said Don Calder, vice president of parts and service operations, Subaru of New England. "The implementation time was incredibly short with virtually no disruption to our customers. And, Servigistics' ability to calculate stocking levels for all parts and locations while tracking excess inventories and shortages translates into significant cost savings for our company and the dealers we supply."
"Being forced to replace their planning system actually offered Subaru of New England an opportunity. Utilizing Servigistics web-access, Subaru will extend their optimization system to the supply chain and their customers," said Michael Landry, president of Servigistics. "The ability to recommend optimal replenishment and procurement orders directly to customers and vendors generates tremendous cost savings as well as closer relationships. Our sophisticated security model that maps processes and planning segments facilitates this process."
