AMA: Dates set for both 2000 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

5 December 1999

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Be a part of history by attending one or both of the
first American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Vintage Motorcycle Days
events of the new millennium: Vintage Motorcycle Days West, April 28-30 at
Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.; and Vintage Motorcycle Days, July
7-9 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

The popular AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days formula will again feature
something special for all vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. While detailed
planning is underway for many additional activities, both events will
include these major attractions:

- A collection of rare Penton motorcycles and memorabilia as this year's
featured marque hosted by the Penton Owners Group.

- John Penton as 2000 VMD Grand Marshal.

- American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) vintage road race,
motocross and observed trials action, including AHRMA vintage dirt-track
racing July 7 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds near Mid-Ohio Sports Car
Course.

- The week-long Sonomafest presented by CruiseAmerica, which will again kick
off with AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days West. Sonomafest includes motorcycle
rides, winery tours, rider schools, and many other activities in the
beautiful Sonoma Valley. It concludes with the May 5-7 AMA Chevy Trucks
U.S. Superbike Championship event at Sears Point.

- A full slate of motorcycling seminars, including those led by Neil Hayes
and James Watts from American Motorcycle Institute, and former AMA
president Ed Youngblood, author of an upcoming book about John Penton.
Both Youngblood and Penton will be available for book signings.

- Manufacturer-sponsored demo rides.

- Huge swap meets organized by AMA/Will Stoner Swapmeets.

- Merchandise midways featuring products and services for all motorcyclists.
