Jaguar Cars Posts Record Sales for November
MAHWAH, N.J., Dec. 2 -- Jaguar Cars today announced its best
November ever in the United States with sales totaling 3,603 cars, up nearly
80 percent compared with November 1998.
For the month, XK Series sports car sales totaled 652, up 41 percent
compared with 461 cars sold in November 1998. The XJ Series sedan sales
totaled 995, and sales of the Jaguar S-TYPE sedan were 1,956. Total
year-to-date sales represent a record volume for Jaguar at 30,093 cars.
"Our record year-to-date sales highlight the phenomenal year Jaguar is
having," said Steve Odell, vice president of Marketing and Sales for Jaguar
North America. "Our sales illustrate consumers' confidence in the quality of
our product line as well as its desirability."
Jaguar Canada sold 163 cars during the month, surpassing the same period
last year by more than 100 percent. The Jaguar line in North America consists
of three series -- the XJ Series sedans, which include the XJ8, XJ8 L
(available in the U.S. only), Vanden Plas, Vanden Plas Supercharged (not
available in Mexico), and XJR; the S-TYPE sport sedan available with either a
3.0-liter V6 or a 4.0-liter V8 engine; and the XK Series, which includes the
new supercharged XKR in both coupe and convertible and the XK8 also available
in both body styles.
