(Photo: NewsCom: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19991202/DETH025 ) Gasperut will be responsible for overseeing the North American manufacturing operations for Collins & Aikman's plastic interior components and will also be an active member of the Company's strategy board for research and development. In making the announcement, Hiller commented, "Lou's background in automotive production planning operations and restructurings make him uniquely qualified to serve as head of our plastics manufacturing unit. He has a proven track record of integrating acquisitions while improving manufacturing productivity, quality and financial controls." Gasperut joins Collins & Aikman from Case Corporation where he served as Director of Operations. Additionally, he has nearly 20 years of automotive manufacturing experience with the former Chrysler Corporation. Gasperut's broad experience also includes international assignments in both France and the United Kingdom. Gasperut holds a Bachelor of Business, magna cum laude, from the University of Detroit and an MBA from the University of Iowa. Gasperut and his wife and three children are relocating to the Troy, Michigan area from Bettendorf, Iowa.
