Royal Oak Appoints New Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
MINNEAPOLIS--Dec. 2, 1999--Autoco.com (OTCBB:AOOO) announced today that its subsidiary, Royal Oak Marketing, has appointed John Thompson as executive vice president. Thompson will be responsible for all sales and marketing efforts of Royal Oak product groups, as well as developing strategic partnerships with major computer resellers and manufacturers.Thompson specialized in marketing and has been actively involved in the consumer electronics industry for over 25 years. Prior to joining Royal Oak, Thompson worked as national sales manager for Cerwin-Vega, a top loudspeaker manufacturer, based in Los Angeles. He was later recruited by Toshiba and returned to Vancouver to launch a new brand of audio components. While in Vancouver, Thompson was recruited by Canada's largest loudspeaker manufacturer, Audio Products International, where he was responsible for creating a retail distribution program from the ground up.
In 1985, Thompson formed Pro Rep Marketing, a Toronto-based manufacturers rep agency, handling product lines such as Motorola, Energizer Batteries, Polk Audio, Sensory Science and Onkyo Electronics. Pro Rep's concept is similar to Royal Oak's making Thompson a natural fit for the newly created position at Royal Oak.
