Top Source Technologies Recruits Former Canon Corp. Senior VP as Vice President of Marketing

    PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL-- Dec. 2, 1999--Top Source Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: TPS) today announced that David F.E. Farr will be joining the Company on December 6, 1999 in the newly created position of Vice President of Marketing, reporting to Will C. Willis, President, Chairman & CEO of the Company. Mr. Farrs responsibilities comprise all marketing functions charged with increasing awareness and ultimately orders for the patented MotorCheckOn-Site Analyzer (OSA-II). He will also be responsible for marketing additional technologies and/or products in the Companyfuture arsenal.
    For more than 20 years, Mr. Farr was with Canon Corporation (most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Corporate Communications for North and South American operations. He was an important member of the executive team that built Canon into an $8 billion Fortune 100 enterprise from a $2 million consumer product company when he joined Canon. Mr. Farr both developed and managed a multimillion-dollar annual marketing and communications budget that spanned 10 divisions, 22 offices, five factories and 100 subordinate personnel.
    Mr. Farrs stellar career includes 17 award-winning advertising campaigns and seven awards in public relations and/or publishing. He has been a keynote speaker with major corporations and universities such as General Motors, Marriott Corp., MIT and Yale University.
    A native of the United Kingdom, Mr. Farr earned his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University where he later received two MBA degrees, in marketing and business administration. As an intelligence officer with the Royal Marines, the then Lieutenant Farr worked with foreign government officials, business leaders and U.S. intelligence agencies to successfully execute intricate and complex assignments.
    Before joining Canon, Mr. Farr was with British American Tobacco (BAT) as President and CEO of its New York affiliate, Turnpike Tobacco, with 74 locations. He also spearheaded BATs aggressive multi-billion dollar U.S. acquisition program, which totaled 17 companies over a five-year period and included such well-known names as Progressive Foods, S&W Foods, Lancer Wine, Matuse Wine and Saks Fifth Ave. He was also personally responsible for the development and marketing of Tic Tac Breath Mint, which became a successful contributor to BATs extensive business portfolio.
