Rhythms NetConnections Signs Ford Motor Company for Nationwide Telework Deployment
Fortune 5 Company Adds High-Speed, DSL-based Services to
Reduce Costs and Improve Worker Productivity

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 2 -- Rhythms NetConnections Inc.
, a North American provider of digital subscriber line
(DSL)-based, high-speed, Internet access and networking solutions, today
announced that it has signed an agreement with Ford Motor Company to
provide national telework access services utilizing DSL technology. Ford
plans to utilize Rhythms' suite of Internet and network access solutions for
up to several thousand of its remote workers located across Ford's North
American operations.
"Ford Motor Company is committed to quality and is very progressive in
their use of technology," said Catherine Hapka, Chairman and CEO of Rhythms.
"We are pleased to be able to support the company and its remote workers with
our nationwide services. Ford's remote workers will now be able to take full
advantage of the cost savings and increased productivity associated with
high-speed network access services. Ford is an excellent example of the type
of relationships we target in our enterprise sales efforts."
With the Rhythms solution, Ford's remote workers will enjoy the benefit of
"always on" connectivity to the Internet and to the Ford corporate network, at
connection speeds ranging from 128 kbps to 7.1 Mbps (approximately 125 times
the speed of today's fastest dial-up modems). The solution capitalizes on
Rhythms' end-to-end Cisco Powered Network in the design, development and
implementation of Ford's telework programs. In addition, Rhythms'
fully-managed services allow Ford to reduce the amount of resources needed to
support remote access program management.
Rhythms offers its services to enterprises and to small- and medium-sized
businesses directly and through channel partners, including Internet service
providers (ISPs), competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), network
integrators, and value-added resellers (VARs). Pricing for Rhythms' solutions
varies according to network speeds and the type of services customers select.
