Top Source Launches Biotek Product Line
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--Dec. 2, 1999--Top Source Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: TPS) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Biotek Environmental Services, Inc. ("Biotek"), a privately held company based in Houston, Texas, granting Top Source exclusive worldwide rights to sell Biotek's proprietary, hydrocarbon eating microbes in certain defined markets. While oil and grease eating microbes are not new, widespread commercial acceptance has been limited because previously available microbes worked too slowly. Biotek has developed and "grows" fast-eating oil and grease microbes. Microbes are combined with a liquid catalyst and then the mixture is placed on the oil stain or spill. Once dry, the resulting powder is swept or washed away leaving the surface clean.
Under the terms of the agreement, Top Source has the exclusive worldwide rights to sell the proprietary biotechnology to any and all segments of the automotive, trucking and food service businesses. This includes manufacturers, dealers and servicers of cars and trucks; gas stations, quick lube centers, tire and battery stores; operators of vehicle fleets including limousines, taxis and buses, overnight delivery services; as well as municipal, government and military fleets. Within the food service industry, Top Source may market the microbes to restaurants, fast food shops and chains, wholesale food distributors, food manufacturers, including meat, poultry and seafood processors. Top Source intends to trademark the microbes and sell them under the MightyClean 2000(TM) brand name. In order to maintain exclusivity, Top Source must generate certain revenue milestones by May 31, 2001.
Commenting, Will C. Willis, Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Top Source Technologies stated, "After running our own in-house trials, we ran a highly successful test of the product at a truck quick lube center. It effectively, economically and quickly removed oil and grease stains from the shop floor to the delight of the branch's manager. This new enterprise is the first step we have taken to capitalize upon the strong relationships we have built throughout the greater automotive and trucking industries by selling synergistic products and new technologies through established and future OSA-II distribution channels.
"We expect to begin shipping MightyClean 2000(TM) and generating revenues from this product line during the first calendar quarter of 2000," Mr. Willis continued. "Our existing corporate infrastructure will support our entry and expansion into this complementary and potentially highly lucrative business."
Jack Creel, President of BioTek Environmental Services, Inc., stated, "We are excited about our partnership with Top Source. Their growing distribution channels and the caliber of companies they are working with creates an excellent opportunity to accelerate the visibility and revenue growth of our proprietary microbe technology."
Top Source Technologies, Inc. develops, assembles, and markets the sophisticated and patented MotorCheck(TM) On-Site Analyzer, "an oil analysis mini-lab in a box".
