"This impressive gain essentially assures us we will break our North American sales record this year," states Hans-Olov Olsson, VCNA President and CEO. Currently at 104,530 year-to-date in North America, VCNA's previous record of 120,781 units was achieved in 1986. The S80 luxury sedan was a strong contributor this month at 2,712, exceeding expectations as it has done all year long. C70 coupe and convertible also show considerable gains compared with the same period last year, going from 303 in November 1998 to 424 units sold in the same period this year. The newest models, S40 and V40, continue to steadily increase their sales pace since their introduction in September. The V70 Cross Country's success also continues to be on the rise, overtaking the base V70 wagon 1,301 to 996. "Overall, our sales figures add to our confidence as we enter the new millennium with the launch of two new models at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month," remarks Mr. Olsson.
