Nissan Reports A 19.7 Percent Increase In Sales - Truck and Maxima Sales Continue to Drive Sales Increase -CARSON, Calif., Dec. 1 -- With continued strong truck and sedan sales, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) reported November sales of 44,821 units, an increase of 19.7 percent over last year. Some of Nissan's sales highlights for the month of November include: -- Nissan truck sales rose 52.2 percent over November 1998, totaling 22,369 units. -- Fueled by the popular Crew Cab, Frontier sales grew 13.2 percent versus last year to 8,223 units. -- Xterra posted sales of 6,783 units and the Pathfinder followed with 4,506 units sold. -- Nissan Quest sales totaled 2,857 units, up 14.9 percent over last year. -- Total sedan sales of 22,447 were driven by the all-new 2000 Nissan Maxima, which turned in sales of 10,401 units, up 53.5 percent over last year. -- Altima reported sales of 8,141 units, and Sentra reported sales of 3,905 units. Combined sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions for November totaled 50,424 units, up 14.7 percent versus last year. Combined sales for the calendar year-to-date totaled 616,297 units, up 9.1 percent versus last year. Sales of Nissan Division's North American-produced vehicles totaled 29,912 units for November, which accounted for 66.7 percent of Nissan's total sales volume. In North America, Nissan's operations include styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
