Subaru Announces November Sales Figures; Best November Sales Month Since 1985
    CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 1 -- Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA)
today announced its November sales figures.  Subaru recorded a sales total of
14,245 units for the month, up three percent over the same period last year
(13,783 units).  This marks the company's best November sales month since
1985.  Year-to-date totals of 143,762 units are up eight percent over 1998
year-to-date totals of 133,196 units.
    The Legacy model line had its best sales month of the year with 8,700
units posted.  The Outback recorded its second best sales month ever with
6,093 units, up 11 percent over November 1998 Outback sales.  Forester posted
4,036 units, a three percent increase over the same month last year.
    Over the past six years, Subaru of America, Inc. has nearly tripled its
revenues and seen its sales increase by nearly 50 percent thanks to its
popular line of car-based sport utility vehicles.  The company is among the
fastest growing brands in the automobile industry and was recently named "Most
Improved Car Company in the World" by the London-based Financial Times
Automotive World Magazine.
