Stephen Odell Appointed VP Marketing & Sales For Mazda North America

Stephen Odell Appointed Vice President Marketing & Sales For Mazda North American Operations
    IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 1 -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today announced that it has appointed Stephen Odell to the position of
Vice President of Marketing and Sales, effective January 1, 2000.  Odell, who
will report directly to Richard Beattie, President and CEO of MNAO, was
previously Vice President - Marketing and Sales for Jaguar North America.
    Chief among Odell's responsibilities will be U.S. sales (MNAO's four
regional general mangers will report to him), national advertising, sales
incentives and promotion, internet marketing, and customer loyalty programs.
Odell also will oversee the work of MNAO's Irvine-based advertising agency,
Doner.
    "I've had the pleasure of working with Steve during my career at Ford,"
said Beattie. "The depth of his sales and marketing experience combined with
his strong leadership capabilities and his ability to work with dealers are a
combination that will further contribute to Mazda's growth in the new
millennium."
    A native of Great Britain, Odell, 44, has held key sales and marketing
positions with Ford Britain, Ford of Europe, Ford Division and Jaguar.  He
holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Brighton University in
England.
    Odell will be relocating from New Jersey to Orange County, Calif., with
his wife Yvonne and their two children.
