Mitsubishi Motors Has Best Month in Its History - November Sales Up 156%
      Company's Year-to-Date Increase is 33%, Outpacing Industry Growth

    CYPRESS, Calif., Dec. 1 -- Mitsubishi Motors had the best
U.S. sales month in its history, with November 1999 results up 156 percent
over the prior year.  With a total of 28,090 units sold, the company is
reporting a fifth consecutive month of record sales, with a year-to-date
increase of 33 percent to 233,959 units, well ahead of the industry pace.

    Figures to note:

    -- Sales for the Montero Sport mid-size SUV were the best ever with 9,621
       units sold, up 282 percent over last year

    -- Eclipse sport coupe sales of 5,387 units -- backed by the strong launch
       of an all-new 2000 model -- were up 161 percent over last November

    -- Galant mid-size sedan was up 142 percent to 8,031 units

    -- Five Mitsubishi Motors' products -- Montero Sport, Eclipse, Galant,
       Diamante luxury performance sedan and Mirage compact sedan -- had sales
       gains doubling last November's pace

    -- Mitsubishi Motors' U.S. year-to-date sales of 233,959 units have now
       surpassed the company's best total year sales (230,279 units were sold
       in 1994)

    "Our products are hot, our sales are on fire, and our dealers are happy --
it doesn't get any better than this," said Pierre Gagnon, executive vice
president and chief operating officer for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America,
Inc.  "With our sales increases continuing to outpace the industry, and with
five record months in a row, the only question now is 'how high is high?'"
