Saab Sales Remain Strong - Up Nearly 35% for the Year; Saab 9-5 Platform Up 11 Percent in November 1999
    NORCROSS, Ga., Dec. 1 -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S.
importer and distributor of Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles, announced U.S. sales
of 2,500 units during November 1999, bringing its year-to-date sales total to
36,621 units - a 34.6 percent increase over the same period in 1998 (27,215).
    The Saab 9-5 continues to draw new buyers to the Saab brand.  Sales of the
9-5 Sedan and Wagon remain strong with 1,305 units retailed during November -
an 11 percent increase over November 1998 (1,179 units).  This includes
437 9-5 Wagons - Saab's functional sport wagon that combines versatility with
performance.  Also included are sales of the new Saab 9-5 Aero, a high-
performance 9-5 Sedan variant that builds on the innovative technologies and
luxury amenities of the current 9-5 with an aggressive, high-output
turbocharged engine and sport-enhanced chassis.
    In November, Saab's dealers also retailed 1,195 Saab 9-3 units, including
316   9-3 Convertibles.
    For model year 2000, Saab continues to advance its line with new
performance variants like the 9-5 Aero and 9-3 Viggen 5-door and Convertible
models, and adds a number of performance-related enhancements across the
entire line.
