American Tire Corporation Appoints a Marketing/Sales Vice-President

    BOULDER CITY, Nev., Dec. 1 -- The Board of Directors of
American Tire Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ATYR) announced effective
immediately that David P. Martin has been hired as Vice-President in charge of
Marketing and Sales.  Mr. Martin started his professional career in 1964 with
Eastman Kodak in sales and servicing.  In 1968 he was hired by GAF Corp and
was regional sales manager over 7 western states.  From 1980 to 1994 he worked
for PaineWebber, Thomson McKinnon  & Prudential Securities as a registered
representative.  Recently, he was the general manager of Rocky Mountain
Waterproofing, the largest waterproofing contractor in the state of Utah,
handling sales and scheduling.
    The board believes that Mr. Martin's practical experience in sales will
aid the company in implementing its marketing program.  The company has
commenced its direct sales advertising program on television.  Its commercials
are presently seen on approximately 40 stations throughout the USA.  Ads in
national and regional publications will be appearing by February of next year.
