Gene Auerbach Named Senior Vice President, InternationalMEMPHIS, Tenn., Nov. 30 -- AutoZone, Inc. announced Gene Auerbach, 54, has been named senior vice president, international. He replaces Steve Valentine, who filled the newly created position of senior vice president, commercial. Auerbach joined AutoZone in February 1999, as senior vice president, store development. He will continue to lead the store development team until a replacement is named. Auerbach came to AutoZone from The Dairy Farm Company, an international operator of supermarkets, drugstores, convenience stores and restaurants based in Hong Kong. He served as director of their $2.5 billion Asian operations. He will report to John Adams, chairman and CEO. AutoZone sells auto and light truck parts, chemicals and accessories through 2,711 AutoZone stores in 39 states in the U.S. and 6 AutoZone stores in Mexico. AutoZone also sells heavy-duty truck parts through 46 TruckPro stores in 14 states, automotive diagnostic and repair software through ALLDATA, and diagnostic and repair information through alldatadiy.com
