SRMA Award Winners Announced at '99 SEMA Show * ITE
    DIAMOND BAR, Calif., Nov. 30 -- The Street Rod Marketing
Alliance (SRMA), council of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA),
held an awards ceremony honoring this year's SRMA Hall of Fame inductees and
SRMA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in Las Vegas at the '99 SEMA Show *
ITE.
    SRMA selected Jerry Slover of Pete & Jake's and Ralph Lisena of Engineered
Components Inc. (ECI), as the recipients of the SRMA Hall of Fame Award.
Chuck Lombardo Sr. of California Street Rods received the SRMA Lifetime
Achievement Award.
    The SRMA Hall of Fame Award honors an outstanding individual in the street
rod industry whose creativity, dignity, integrity, industriousness and
accomplishments on a national level have enhanced the status of the industry,
while significantly contributing to its growth.
    The purpose of the SRMA Lifetime Achievement Award is to commemorate an
individual who has promoted and impacted the street rod industry in a positive
manor and demonstrated a commendable contribution to the street rod industry.
    Dave McClelland, host of the SRMA awards ceremony, presented these awards
to the three chosen recipients.
    Bill Bainbridge, SEMA vice president of marketing, commented on this
year's award winners by saying, "Every year, SEMA recognizes the best of the
best in the industry.  Chuck, Jerry and Ralph are three of the leaders that
continue to give back to the street rod industry and we applaud them for their
efforts."
    SEMA is a trade association comprised of more than 3,600 member companies
that make up the specialty automotive aftermarket industry.  The seven diverse
niches in which SEMA members specialize include light-truck, off-road, racing
and performance, street rod and restoration, and restyling.  All combined, the
markets add up to $21.2 billion in retail business annually.
