    MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, Nov. 29 -- AK Steel Corporation
has earned Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corporation U.S.A.'s Quality Master
Award for the eighth consecutive year.  No other integrated steel producer has
won the award for more than three consecutive years.

happy," said Richard M. Wardrop, chairman and chief executive officer of AK
Steel.  "We are honored to once again by the recipient of a Nissan Quality
Master Award."
    AK Steel has won Nissan's Quality Master Award 12 times since becoming a
supplier to Nissan in 1987.
    AK Steel supplies Nissan's Smyrna, Tennessee plant with cold-rolled,
nickel-terne electrogalvanized and galvannealed steels.  AK Steel serves every
major domestic and foreign-owned automaker in the U.S.
