Mannesmann Comments on Press Speculations About Friendly Negotiations With Vodafone AirTouch 
    DUSSELDORF, Germany, Nov. 26  -- Klaus Esser, Chairman of the
Executive Board, comments:

    "The speculation in the press about friendly negotiations between
Mannesmann and Vodafone AirTouch is without substance.  The hostile final
offer by Vodafone AirTouch does not provide a basis for discussion and there
are no discussions ongoing.
    The offer has been rejected as inadequate and there has been no change in
this respect.  This announcement serves as clarification to avoid a false
market, mislead by unsubstantiated rumours."
