Robert Ostendorf Named Morgan Corporation President
MORGANTOWN, Pa.--Nov. 19, 1999--Robert E. Ostendorf Jr. has been named President of Morgan Corporation, reporting to Peter K. Hunt who has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of J. B. Poindexter & Company, Morgan's parent company.In making the announcement, Peter Hunt said, "Mr. Ostendorf comes to us with an impressive background of successfully leading other sizable manufacturing organizations."
Prior to being named President of Morgan, Mr. Ostendorf served as President of the Truck Group of Cambridge Industries, Inc. in Madison Heights, Michigan. There, he had P&L responsibility for a $300 million division of a $500 million company that manufactures sheet molded composite body parts for all major automotive and truck original equipment manufacturers.
In this position, Mr. Ostendorf significantly improved operating performances of five plants and moved the company to the status of a preferred supplier for a major truck OEM.
Mr. Ostendorf also has served as President of American Sunroof Company, Detroit, Michigan; President and CEO of VMC Fiberglass Products, Daleville, Alabama, and was Head of Fabrication for Michelin Tire Corporation in Dothan, Alabama.
He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Troy State University, Dothan, Alabama, a Master of Science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from the U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
