Collins & Aikman Announces Key Appointments For Its Dura Convertible Systems UnitTROY, Mich., Nov. 19 -- Collins & Aikman today announced a series of executive appointments for its Dura Convertible Systems unit. The announcement was made by Reed White, President of Collins & Aikman's Dura Convertible Systems unit. The appointments are expected to further enhance the focus and efficiency Collins & Aikman's Convertible Systems unit -- North America's leading supplier of convertible top systems. The appointments included the following: * Stuart Austin was promoted to Senior Vice President of the Dura unit, from Vice President of North American Operations. Prior to overseeing North American operations, Austin was President of Dura's wholly owned subsidiary, Amco Convertible Fabrics, Inc. * Carlos Lavara succeeds Austin as Vice President of North American Operations. Lavara joined the Company in 1993, and he successfully developed the Company's initial convertible tops venture in Mexico. He most recently served as Director of Operations in Mexico. * Luis Canadas has been named Director of Mexican Operations, succeeding Lavara. Canadas, who joined the Company in 1993 as Controller for Dura's Mexican operations, will now oversee Dura's Mexican operations and will direct the financial reporting process for all of Collins & Aikman's Mexican operations.
