Donaldson Company Dedicates New Manufacturing Facility in Auburn, Alabama; New Facility to Produce Truck Mufflers
    MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 18 -- Donaldson Company, Inc. ,
will dedicate a newly constructed, 160,000 square foot manufacturing facility
in Auburn, Ala. on Saturday, Nov. 20th.  This facility was constructed to
produce mufflers for truck manufacturers located in the southeastern U.S.
region.
    Donaldson Company has invested $6 million in the venture, and expects to
employ 170 people in Auburn within the next year as plant operations ramp up.
Production training in the newly constructed facility began in October with
approximately 50 employees.  Bruce Kreutzer is plant manager.
    "Our goal was to set up manufacturing in close proximity to heavy truck
manufacturers in the southeastern U.S.," said Lowell Schwab, senior vice
president, Operations.  "The support we received from the city of Auburn and
state of Alabama throughout the entire process has been outstanding, and we
are very pleased with our selection of Auburn as the site for the newest
Donaldson manufacturing facility.  Now we can deliver integrated exhaust
systems and excellent customer service to our customers in this region, which
we believe will provide us with a competitive advantage."
    Donaldson Company, Inc. is a leading worldwide manufacturer of filtration
systems and replacement parts.  The company's product mix includes:  air and
liquid filters and exhaust and emission control products for heavy duty mobile
equipment; in-plant air cleaning systems; air intake systems and exhaust
products for industrial gas turbines; and specialized filters for such diverse
applications as computer disk drives, aircraft passenger cabins and
semiconductor processing.  Products are manufactured at more than two dozen
Donaldson plants around the world and through four joint ventures.  The
