UTI and DuPont Form New Educational Alliance
Automotive Collision Industry to Benefit From Quality Technician
                               Training Program

PHOENIX, Nov. 17 -- Universal Technical Institute (UTI) and
DuPont Performance Coatings have created an educational alliance to provide
training to future collision refinishing technicians.
The alliance will support the Collision Repair & Refinish Technology
(CRRT) program offered exclusively at UTI's campus in Houston, Tex.
Under the alliance, DuPont will furnish the refinishing module of the CRRT
program with equipment, products, grants, assistance with placement of
graduates, and curriculum development resources.
The CRRT program is divided into five modules, which cover all facets of
collision repair and refinish training. In order to meet industry standards
and familiarize students with the latest technologies, the refinishing program
will include specialized training with DuPont Performance Coatings.
"We are focused on expanding educational opportunities for young adults in
the collision industry," says Richard Sproul, training consultant, DuPont.
"UTI students receive a myriad of specialized training. This is essential to
an employer looking for a qualified technician."
According to industry sources, there is an immediate need for
15,000 trained refinishing technicians.
