Zapworld.com Signs Exclusive Agreement for Electric Pedicab

ZAPWORLD.COM Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement for Electric Pedicab
SEBASTOPOL, Calif., Nov. 16 -- Electric vehicle pioneer
ZAPWORLD.COM (OTC Bulletin Board: ZAPP) announced today it has signed an
agreement with ZEV Technologies (ZEV) of Syracuse, New York for the exclusive
right to distribute its electric pedicab.
A pedicab is a three-wheeled bicycle capable of carrying a rider and one
or two passengers. They are recognizable in many cities around the world as an
alternative to traditional taxi services and in tourist areas where visitors
can use them for a guided site-seeing tour.
The electric pedicab was developed by ZEV with the support of a grant from
the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. The electric
pedicab uses both human power and electric power; a hybrid vehicle by
definition uses two power sources. By adding an electric power assist system,
ZEV hopes to expand the role of pedicabs in urban areas challenged by traffic
congestion and poor air quality. The electric pedicab has a top speed of
15 mph and runs up to 20 miles on a single charge. It comes equipped with an
onboard charging system and state-of-charge meter. Each pedicab costs $5,990.
ZAP will begin marketing the electric pedicab through its two ZAP EV
stores in San Francisco and Key West. ZAP's goal is to reach new customers by
establishing sales and rental operations in major tourist destinations around
the world. In addition to acquiring existing rental operations, ZAP is
offering franchising for people starting their own electric vehicle stores.
ZEV president Barry Carr thinks the electric pedicab is a good match for ZAP's
electric vehicle rental and sales outlets.
"I have been involved in the EV business for almost ten years now and
ZAP's EV Store and rental concept is an ideal marketing opportunity for the
electric pedicab," said Carr. "In tourist areas, a fleet of electric pedicabs
will enhance tourism while relieving congestion and reducing air pollution."
A recognized leader in the U.S. electric vehicle market, ZAP recently
celebrated its fifth anniversary. The company manufactures several models of
electric bikes, scooters, motorcycles and other electric vehicles. ZAP is
publicly owned with stock trading under the symbol ZAPP. For complete
