Mazda Names Its All-New 2001 Sport-Utility Vehicle 'Tribute'
                - Much-Anticipated Mazda Sport Utility Vehicle
                  To Make World Debut at 2000 LA Auto Show -

    IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 15 -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today announced that its new sport-utility vehicle will be called the
Mazda Tribute.  Jim Miller, president of MNAO's parent company, Mazda Motor
Corporation in Japan, predicted that the new sport-ute will lead its class
with 'at-tributes' like distinctive design, exceptional functionality and
responsive handling and performance.
    A concept version of Mazda's new SUV, called the ACTIVEHICLE CONCEPT, was
introduced at the 33rd Tokyo Motor Show last month.  A production version of
the 2001 Mazda Tribute will make its worldwide debut at the 2000 Los Angeles
Auto Show.  The Mazda Tribute will arrive in dealerships this summer and will
be sold in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.
    Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) is responsible for the sales and
marketing, customer parts and service support of Mazda vehicles in the United
States.  Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., MNAO has more than 750 dealerships
nationwide and is owned by Mazda Motor Corporation, Hiroshima, Japan.
