KleenAir Announces World-Wide Diesel Catalytic Converter Exclusive

DANA POINT, Calif.--Nov. 15, 1999--KleenAir Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: KAIR) today announced that KleenAir has signed an Exclusive Agreement with Catalytic Solutions, Inc. (CSI) of Oxnard, CA for a special ceramic catalytic formulation for a new, improved NOx reducing catalytic converter for use with diesel engines. CSI specializes in highly effective metal oxide formulations for coating ceramic catalysts for use with both gasoline and diesel engines and is a supplier of substrates to a major after-market producer of converters. CSI and KleenAir have jointly tested and developed a special coating for use with ammonia injection systems. KleenAir has been granted exclusive worldwide rights for the use of these coatings for any system in which ammonia is introduced into the exhaust.
KleenAir has a unique computer controlled ammonia system which, when injected into the exhaust stream, interacts with NOx produced during combustion. The result converts environmentally hazardous NOx into harmless nitrogen and water. KleenAir owns worldwide patents on its system, and has an additional patent application pending. The new NOxMaster(TM) Diesel Catalytic Converter in addition to achieving dramatic reductions of NOx, also substantially eliminates CO and Hydrocarbons as well as significantly reducing particulates.
KleenAir plans to combine it's NOxMaster(TM) NOx Reduction System with the new NOxMaster(TM) Diesel Catalytic Converter. The integrated system would enable automotive vehicles to meet increasingly severe government mandated restrictions on NOx, Particulates, CO and Hydrocarbons planned by the EPA and other environmental agencies around the world.
The principal market in the US for an integrated NOx/Particulate/CO/HC reduction system will be fleet operators of diesel powered vehicles. Diesel engines are now the engine of choice in well over 30% of all new European passenger vehicles, with close to 5 million new such vehicles manufactured annually.
The Company is in the business of developing NOx reduction systems for the automotive market together with appropriate catalytic converters designed to operate effectively with the Company's patented products.
