TNN to Telecast 15 Pennzoil World of Outlaws Races in 2000
    NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 10 -- TNN, the home of the Pennzoil
World of Outlaws Series, will expand its commitment to live motorsports
programming in 2000 by increasing the number of World of Outlaws telecasts.
The popular open-wheel sprint car series, that will draw more than 1.7 million
spectators this year, will compete at new venues in Charlotte, N.C., Ft.
Worth, Texas and Bristol, Tenn. in 2000.
    "We are adding more Pennzoil World of Outlaws events because the audience
for the series continues to grow," says Brian Hughes, Vice President,
Programming, TNN.  "We are especially pleased by the young male demographics
the telecasts deliver.  They have grown by more than 70% from last year."
    The Greatest Show on Dirt made its live debut on TNN in 1995 with one
event and will expand to 15 live telecasts in 2000, including races in
Mechanicsburg, Penn., Topeka, Kan., Terre Haute, Ind., Greenwood, Neb., and
Fargo, N.D. The first race will be telecast Friday, March 3 (10:00 PM - 12:00
Midnight, ET/PT) from Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
    "TNN provides the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series an opportunity to
showcase this sport to a national audience," says Ted Johnson, President,
Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series.  "We have continued to see great growth for
the series since the first live telecast on TNN."
    TNN will take viewers to inaugural Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series races
at Texas Motor Speedway, Ft. Worth, Thursday, March 30, Lowe's Motor Speedway,
Charlotte, N.C., Thursday, May 25, and Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, Tenn.,
Saturday, June 10.  TNN will again telecast the KINGS ROYAL at the famed
Eldora Speedway, Rossburg, Ohio, Saturday, July 15 and the 40th running of the
AMOCO KNOXVILLE NATIONALS from Knoxville, Iowa, Saturday, Aug. 12.
    The series, produced by Diamond P Sports, features Ralph Sheheen, Brad
Doty and Steve Evans in the broadcast booth.  David Reiff and Bob Gerould
cover the action from pit road.
