The Nuermont GmbH: Plant Relocation Made in GermanyGerman Specialist Enterprise Globally Relocates Whole Production Plants -- Subsidiary Established in the US -- Large Dupont Order Over 5.2 Million US-$ NURNBERG, Germany and ALPHARETTA, Ga., Nov. 9 -- The Nuermont GmbH, market leader in German production relocation, has now established the Nuermont Corp., a US subsidiary based in Alpharetta, Georgia. As a worldwide operating full-service provider, Nuermont specializes in the relocation of production plants, ranging from single machines to complete industrial plants. With over 300 employees, Nuermont achieved a brisk turnover of US-$25 million and is now looking into possibilities of strong expansion. The number of employees is expected to rise to 500 by the year 2005, by this time, overall turnover is also expected to double to more than US-$55 million. Nuermont's second line of business is the assembly and installation of new machines and production lines either as a service to the end user or in cooperation with the OEM. As a full-service provider and prime contractor, Nuermont carries out both relocation of production lines as well as assembly and installation of new machines and lines ready for operation. Nuermont offers the whole spectrum of related performances: planning, scheduling, coordination, installation and after-sales-services from a single source. Interface problems can thus be minimized and time schedules can be guaranteed. Executive Vice President Helmut Weber sees this as an essential advantage in the marketplace and has a basis for above average growth. In future, new potentials are to be developed as the US-business expands. Enterprises from all branches of industry are among Nuermont's customers. Only recently, Nuermont has successfully completed, among others, large orders of DaimlerChrysler, Osram Sylvania, Rigips, Lucent Technologies and Suspa. Nuermont has just recently in Germany received a US-$10 million order by DuPont for the relocation of ten production lines for nylon fibers. The massive spindles, each of them up to thirty meters high, and equipped with single components weighing several tons, reach over several floors. Some plant components weighing up to five tons have to be lifted out of the roof of the factory halls due to structural restrictions. With these plants, DuPont produces special nylon fibers, which are, among other things, used for the production of airbags in car manufacturing.
